Why a Disability Lawyer:

Why should you seek out a disability lawyer as opposed to using a lawyer that you know of through some other experiences in the law like a real estate lawyer or a lawyer who does some personal injury work, maybe you know someone who has done some contract work? The answer is simple as I see it. When I have a medical problem would I go to my general practitioner if I needed a cancer specialist? Or a rheumatologist? Or a foot doctor? And the answer is no. Back in the day, our grandparents’ day there was only one doctor in town. The doctor had the black bag, came to your house, took care of whatever your problem was and miraculously and fortunately and hopefully you got better. Well now you see a specialist doctor for your speciality problem.

You need to do the same with a lawyer. A lawyer cannot possibly handle all of the information coming at us in all the different specialties of law. I am not a real estate attorney. I am not a malpractice attorney. I may have had cases like that in the past but I am a disability attorney. I know how to get a claim paid. I know how to communicate with the insurance company. I know how to convey to your doctors the information that they need to collect from your file to convince the company that you’re sick. So without having that experience I wouldn’t know where to begin. And cases that I have referred to me from other lawyers are often those where lawyers have tried their best to make the case work but because they don’t do this they don’t know what’s behind closed doors, the closed doors of the insurance company. They don’t know what the insurance company needs to make the case successful, but I do know. I can’t guarantee anything and I would not, but I do know, and I will tell you when you meet with me what you need to do to pass these tests, the tests of these insurance companies. That’s why you need a lawyer who has a focus in disability law for your disability case.
