| The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is the primary legal basis of Disability Law. According to the ADA, a disability is: “a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual,” or “a record of such impairment,” or “being regarded as having such an impairment.” The ADA prohibits discrimination against disabled individuals in the areas of employment, housing, education, and access to public services. A Disability can temporary, partial and permanent, or total and permanent. If an individual is disabled, he or she may be entitled benefits. | |
