The Social Security Administration has maintained a list of medical conditions that are so debilitating, they automatically qualify a person as disabled. For each major body system, the Administration has outlined severe impairments that will prevent a person from doing any gainful activity. Most of these conditions are permanent or expected to end in death. For all other impairments, evidence must prove that the condition has lasted or is expected to last for at least one year.

While this list is not exhaustive, some medical conditions that may qualify a person as disabled include:

• Chronic liver disease with hemorrhaging
